Let us not forget that for 23 years she served as the founder of the “Come As You Are” outdoor musical event, opening a platform for new artists.  The Board members were: Andre Patterson, Zadella Durtis, Walter Howard, Paulette Bush, Marcus Jones and Pastor Campbell.  We cannot forget Ayo Kason was also the co-founder, as it was just her and Pastor Campbell who prayed and asked God how to do this and he did!  Every year in August at the South Shore Cultural Center in Chicago the park was full of choirs, soloists, quartets, pastors and the like.  Some of the artists that started their careers at Come As You Are were:  Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin. Yolanda Adams, Kirk Franklin and the Family, Darrel Coley, Lecresia, Joshua’s Troop, (formerly the Come As You Are choir), Rickey Dillard and New G., the Kurt Carr Singers, and a host of others.
